Lehigh’s Institute for Cyber Physical Infrastructure & Energy (I-CPIE) was proud to participate in the inaugural Advanced Energy Technology Forum, hosted by the United States Energy Association (USAE) in Washington, D.C. Sudhakar Neti, Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics and Senior Scientist at Lehigh’s Energy Research Center attended. Neti was joined by leaders from government and private industry.

The forum focused on energy sector innovation and advances, including electric power technology and what’s new at National Laboratories and universities. Reflecting on the remarks made by Energy Secretary Perry and other keynote speakers at the forum, Neti noted that, “it is evident that Lehigh is very much focused on some of the most pressing needs of Energy Technology.”

Neti’s presentation, A University Perspective, focused on the importance of interdisciplinary research and highlighted how I-CPIE’s research thrusts are addressing key societal needs and challenges. Neti also discussed how energy technology drivers are driving energy research.
