Wireless comms with side-channel authentication earns US Army researchers new patent

A team of U.S. Army scientists has invented a useful system for wireless devices to authenticate and communicate.

On August 4, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory was granted U.S. Patent 10,735,963, titled “Wireless communication method for secure side-channel signaling and authentication at the physical layer.”

The patent lists Drs. Paul Yu and Brian Sadler from the Army Research Lab and Prof. Rick Blum and Dr. Jake Perazzone of Lehigh University as the inventors.
